VAI Epigenetics Symposium

20 (+2) Years of the Histone Code

August 1–3, 2022

In the two decades since the first description of the histone code, the field of epigenetics has grown exponentially and given rise to revolutionary new insights that are reshaping our understanding of health and disease.

The 2022 VAI Epigenetics Symposium: 20 (+2) Years of the Histone Code will explore the latest advances in epigenetic research, from chromatin and transcriptional regulation to developmental plasticity and transgenerational inheritance. This three-day event will feature global leaders in the field and spotlight remarkable breakthroughs at the forefront of discovery. Registration opens in spring 2022.

VAI Epigenomics Workshop

August 3–5, 2022

Graduate students also may apply to attend the VAI Epigenomics Workshop, a three-day, hands-on, problem-based experience that will immerse participants in the latest epigenomic research and techniques. Topics include epigenetics in health and disease, leveraging epigenomics tools (such as ChIP-seq, genome browsers and DNA methylation analysis), and strategies for integrating epigenomics data with other data types. By the end of the workshop, students will have a deeper understanding of innovative methods for studying epigenomics, be better able to apply these tools to interdisciplinary research questions in the field, and will have built meaningful connections with research leaders and other graduate students in the broader epigenomics field.

Funding for the workshop was made possible (in part) by R25HG011020 from the National Human Genome Research Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
